Repeating a directive delivered before, this time in response to an offense by the DAILY MAIL. Attention, newspapers. Somebody who experiences a gory end does not suffer a grizzly fate. He suffers a grisly fate. GRISLY. Grisly means bloody and gory all that goes with it. Grizzly means graying at the chops, a description that applies to any number of old men, and certain bears. Dr. Chilton annoyed Hannibal Lecter and suffered a grisly fate. Timothy Treadwell went camping in Alaska and suffered a grizzly fate. They are not the same thing. Damn it.
