Repentance is that great doctrine of recognizing and acknowledging our need to turn to God for forgiveness. It is a recognition, not of one sin alone, but of the very nature of sin that is in us. Sin is a brokenness, a sore, a wound, a loathsome disease that only Christ can heal. When we see the exceeding sinfulness of sin we see the need for the cross and the great sacrifice of our Savior. We see His blood spilled for our blood, His wounds made for our wounds, His disgrace is our disgrace. Indeed, He was made sin for us. May God open the eyes of the blind to grant us repentance before God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. To Him be glory. Read Psalm 38 for a look at sins effect. Look to Jesus for the only remedy!
