Replacing my motherboard, processor, and RAM while keeping it - TopicsExpress

Replacing my motherboard, processor, and RAM while keeping it around $550-600. I decided to just order them all on newegg but I wanted to see what others think about it so I can make a better decision. 1. For the processor, I chose the Intel Core i7-3770K Ivy Bridge Quad-core 3.5GHz (3.9 GHz Turbo) newegg/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501 I know there are Haswell instead of Ivy Bridge, but that means Id have to buy an 1150 LGA socket motherboard which tends to be more than an 1155 LGA one since theyre newer. Thoughts? 2. For the motherboard, I went for the ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard newegg/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131820 I decided the Q77 isnt as good as the Z77 for what I want to do so thats why I got that. Also this has plenty of expansion slots which is convenient. Not too sure about ASUS motherboards overall but I like their other products so I decided to go for it. 3. And lastly, I just went for G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600. newegg/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 As for the GPU, HDD, power supply, and all that other good stuff, Ive got it covered. Id like some opinions though. Ive built computers before I just havent had the opportunity for a bit so Im a little rusty. Im just getting these parts to last me a few years down the line to where I can afford to buy a whole new rig from scratch.
