Replication of evidence-based positive parenting programmes may not be as successful as the original if their adaptation to new cultural settings is only superficial. This article from our publication Early Childhood Matters describes how the Madres a Madres (‘Mothers to Mothers’) home visiting parent-training programme was based on principles of evidence-based programmes, but designed specifically for the unique cultural and contextual needs of recent Latino immigrants to the United States.
