Report Munirka Village- Interaction Meeting on 7 Dec. 2014 To get feedbacks on Delhi Dialogue issues gender equality and women’s safety, Education and healthcare etc, an interactive meeting with women of Munirka village, R. K. Puram Vidhan Sabha was organized on 7th Dec. 2014 at Pahari wala park. The meeting was led by Ms. Nivedita Kumari and assisted by Lata singh, Vinod Kumar. Following feedbacks and demand emerged from the interactions. Demand/feedback of local women 1. Control of Price rise/inflation: Women said that they run the household. Price of vegetables is still very high( tomato , potato more than Rs.50/kg) and it very difficult for poor people to meet their daily expenses. Price rise has broken their backbone. Modi failed to control it. Naredndar modi desh videsh ghum raha hai, what he has done for poor people? ( See video-2 part 16-20 minutes section) 2. High electricity Bill: Women are very concern that Electricity Bill has increased 2-3 times and they can not afford it. 3. Women security – Harassment of girls on road. Narrated the true story of local girl harassed on road by a man in car. The girl was stalked the man in car which sought from passerby aunty who accompanied her till safe place.(see video and listen). 4. Girls scholarship payment on time and enhancement of fellowship. They also insisted for women Employment and security at work place and transit. 5. Payment of Widow pension has not been for more than 9 months. They demanded for regularization of payment of widow pension. 6. YELLOW CARD for healthcare. The women informed that they are poor people and it is very difficult to afford costly medicine as some of them and their children suffering from ciirtical diseases such as cancer etc. Their sons earning is hardly 8000-10,000 per months. They said they approached local MLA, and other authorities but no has helped and arranged the Yellow CARD demanded. 7. Water, Drainage, sanitation- Water supply in the area has been reduced and supply is limited for few hours( max 1 -1.5 hrs). earlier supply was 4 hrs. 8. Infrastructure: The internal road of village area is badly congested ovt quarters is badly damaged no repair work has been done by local authorities. The streetlight is also not working at many 9. Affordable Education and easy admission process for poor people children: Net Impression: These women said that they are with AAP and will vote for AAP. They said that Kejriwal has done good jobs during 49 days. We are with Kejriwal, Himmat nahi hare wo and they will come with Kejriwal. They said whenever they called for jansabha they will come with full force and in large number. They requested that above problems should be addressed by AAP.
