Report of the Team which visited the Refugee Camp of Muzaffarnagar Riot Victims at the Zainatul Islam Madarsa, Rashid Ali Gate, Loni, Ghaziabad on September 18, 2013 On the basis of the testimonies and the grievances put forward by the refugees, the DSF team demands the following: 1. All the refugee camps should be run by the state government with proper support for fooding and health. 2. The UP government must deploy officers within these refugee camps to record testimonies and complaints. 3. The list of refugees from different camps be exchanged to facilitate the process of tracing lost family members. 4. That peace and special initiatives for confidence building be initiated without delay. 5. Politicians across party lines who have incited communal hatred in the area must immediately be arrested and charged. 6. A Judicial Inquiry into the Muzaffarnagar riots should be conducted by a Supreme Court judge. The DSF appeals to the newly elected JNUSU to initiate fund and relief material collection within JNU involving all progressive and secular student organisations. DSF pledges its cooperation with the JNUSU if it sincerely pursues the above-mentioned demands.
