Report on Concussion in Sport was published by the Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children this morning. Having held hearings with medical experts, sports organisations, players representatives and policy makers the Committee has called for the development of a coherent strategy to reduce the risk of injuries from sports concussion. Any sportsperson experiencing or diagnosed with concussion should be immediately removed from play, regardless of pitch-side assessments.
