Report on Sallys rear lameness issue: Took her to the UGA hospital and she saw a vet who specializes in orthopedics and sports medicine. They did a complete ortho exam....and I mean complete! They found nothing. The only thing was when they poked on her ilio-something-or-other, she yelped slightly. But then they poked on that same muscle in other other leg and she did the same thing. He said lots of times, dogs just dont like to be poked up into their groin. I can fully understand. So....he decided to take the cautious route. 4 more weeks of complete rest and Rimadyl. Shes been resting throughout my entire surgery/recovery. Not sure how much more rest she can handle. She is going to explode. I wonder if they have a dog explosion specialist over there. Anyway, 4 more weeks, then gradually work her back into activity. If theres another problem, they will do an ultrasound, concentrating on that ilio-something-or-other, and well go from there. I honestly believe shes at a good place with UGA. I trust them. I just want my Chocolate Dawg to have a happy life...period.
