Reports say that Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is entering the NFL draft. We all know he has the talent to be a great one, but his off-the-field escapades – being accused of rape, yelling lewd comments in the dining hall and shoplifting crab legs – leave us wondering just how much of a head case hell be. Draft history is littered with guys with million-dollar arms and 50-cent heads. The jury is still out on Johnny Manziel, but here are some of the all-time busts: Matt Leinart: After a stellar career at USC, Leinart was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals with the 10th pick in the 2006 draft. But his on-field play never lived up to his reputation as a party-boy. He kicked around the league for a few years and was last seen in the Buffalo Bills training camp in 2013 before getting cut. Jeff George: George was the first overall pick in the 1990 draft, going to the Indianapolis Colts. But he was widely renowned for having a foul attitude on and off the field – arguing with coaches, the Colts owner and fans. He knocked around the league for about 15 years, playing in just 131 games with mediocre stats. Vince Young: You knew the Texas phenom might be an issue when he scored an all-time low for QBs on the Wonderlic aptitude test. In 2008, he disappeared from the Tennessee Titans and was found only when coach Jeff Fisher called police. A few years later, he went bankrupt after having blown through the $34 million hed earned in the NFL. He retired in 2014 but hadnt played in a regular-season game since 2011. Todd Marinovich: The Raiders took Marinovich out of USC with the 24th pick in 1991. But he never made it onto the field, instead falling into heavy drug abuse. After numerous arrests and just three seasons on NFL rosters, hes reportedly cleaned himself up and become an artist. JaMarcus Russell: The Raiders apparently didnt learn their lesson with Marinovich, taking the LSU quarterback with the first overall pick in 2007. He managed just three seasons in the league and was arrested in 2010 for being in possession of codeine syrup without a valid prescription. At that time, he said hed tested positive for it when he was drafted. Ryan Leaf: The Washington State quarterback is the poster child for draft busts. In 1998, draftniks were unsure who would be taken first – Leaf or Peyton Manning. Leaf went second overall, to the San Diego Chargers. He started his career by skipping a mandatory rookies meeting and was confrontational to teammates and reporters. Since his NFL days ended in 2001, hes been in and out of trouble with the law, primarily for drug possession.
