Reports to: Board of Directors Employment Status: Full-time FLSA Status: Exempt Pay Status: Salaried, Full Time Position Summary Position incumbent develops, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, primary goals, operating plans, policies, and short and long term objectives for the organization and is responsible for implementation following Board of Directors’ approval. Serves in the role as principal spokesperson for the organization and as the chief fundraiser cultivating potential donors. Establishes organizational structure and delegates authority to subordinates. All ILE employees, interns, and volunteers will report to the Executive Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serves as Executive Director in supervising , coordinating, and administering the activities and programs of ILE including but not limited to general administration, planning, monitoring, fundraising, fiscal administration, human resource administration, community/public relations and the implementation of organizational vision Serves as liaison and provides staff services and necessary reports to the Board of Directors and other organizational committees Administers, directs and coordinates all the activities of the organization and assists in establishing and implementing strategic initiatives in keeping with ILE’s mission and goals Recruits, hires, supervises and terminates staff following ILE Executive Board’s approval Serves as ILE’s principal spokesperson, fundraiser and public relations officer Supervises the evaluation of existing operations and recommends methods/procedures for increased efficiency and cost savings Provides the Board of Directors with appropriate timely updates, information and monthly reports at each board meeting or on a more regular basis if necessary via e-mail or correspondence Provides recommendations to further the vision, mission, values and goals of the organization Prepares, in collaboration with the Executive Board and the Board of Directors, the annual budget, monitors performance on a regular basis, issues timely and accurate reports to the Board of Directors Oversees the preparation of organization reports and documents such as annual reports, statistical reports, fiscal policy and other data which reflects the progress, trends, and needs of the organization, and provides appropriate recommendations for change Represents ILE before a variety of civic and community groups as well as local, state, and federal policy making bodies under the supervision and approval of the ILE Board of Directors Coordinates with Committee Chairs on meeting and status of commitments Prepares grants and contracts for initial or continued funding for approval by the Board Manages and organizes all fundraising activities of the organization in tandem with the ILE Board of Directors Authorizes purchase orders, vouchers and payments within parameters set by Board of Directors. Maintains and protects inventory of ILE assets and property Ensures all appropriate records and files are kept up-to-date and in good standing with all government entities Travels as needed to secure sponsors, donors, celebrity guests and participants for ILE programs and events Performs other duties as may be assigned Goals To increase sponsorship and funding of the ILE to $200,000 for 2015, grow exposure of the ILE to the statewide Latino Community, and to develop cooperative relationships with other Latino organizations nationally Minimum Core Competencies Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, education, philanthropy, finance, human resource administration or a related field with 3 - 5 years’ experience with a volunteer board and community leadership is required • Thorough working knowledge of marketing and fundraising • Ability to multi-task with close attention to detail and manage stress, multiple deadlines and frequent interruptions • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal, interpersonal communication skills, presentation and report writing • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed established goals and objectives • Working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook is required • Ability to speak and write Spanish is a plus Working Conditions • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature • Regular exposure to video terminals, on and off site event participation and periodic travel ADA Requirements: Communicate: High frequency of communications by telephone, e-mail, facsimile and face-to-face Dexterity: High frequency of keyboard manipulation and paper handling Detect: Required to review detailed proposals/forms/contracts, travel, and view computer monitor, and make individual and/or public presentations Stationary position: Required to sit and stand for extended periods and negotiate local and national travel Transport: Infrequent lifting of boxes, equipment, and other materials weighing 50 pounds from floor, carry and load into vehicles or cargo, overhead reaching and movement of materials less than 25 pounds Traverse: Required to ascend and descend stairwells BENEFITS Base salary $45 K plus Commissions (after review in 4 months) 5% of Renewed Sponsorships/Supporters; 10% of New Sponsorships/Supporters Sick time - 5 days annually (3 consecutive days requires a physician’s note) Personal Time off (PTO) - 3 days annually Vacation – 5 days annually Mileage – IRS rate Computer and mobile phone
