Repost due to trolling: Ive been mastering tracks for around 3-4 years now. For metal I really do not like mastering a track to optimum perceived loudness. I keeps chain pretty simple. Tape emulation-> Frequency cuts-> Compression-> Frequency boosts-> Hi Frequency Limiting-> Mastering Limiter (set to hardly do anything) So my question is for you mastering guys out there, how do you approach a metal track? What typical chain do you use?
