*Reposting here, thanks @Alexander Acosta Osorio This university is officially going down the drain. Previously I could not imagine how IT could get any worse at AUBG but todays launch of the new main website has proven me very very wrong. Heres a small list of the big problems that no one seems to care about: 1. Internet access. Things were supposed be a lot better this semester, because now every room in Skapto has its own WiFi router, yay! But as many of you can attest, the WiFi is actually *worse* now than it was last year. The speed is way below what was promised, and the WiFi stops every 15 minutes. But you say Hey, I can still use the cable, that works great!. Well, no, not if youre in a double room in Skapto 1, because these rooms now have *only* WiFi, no cable access. Excuse me, OCC, but how am I supposed to do my academic work when I cant even load eLearn?? When asking OCC for help, things like Change your room (Im an RA, so not an option, and no, this is not a solution to the problem) and Nothing can be done, this is how it is are thrown around. Thank you. Now I cant upload AUBGTalks videos, I cant browse Facebook, cant watch YouTube, I cant even have a decent Skype conversation!!!! This is ridiculous. 2. The new website. Initially a good idea, lets have a new website and leave the Middle Ages of IT. This website was in development for who knows how long, with how many delays, but hooray it launches ... today! Wait a minute?! The website crashes on Chrome? Website search doesnt work? STUDENT WEBSITES DONT WORK?!?!?! How much did we pay these guys again?? Because this is absurd. When calling OCC to find out why the AUBGTalks website isnt working (aubg.edu/talks), I get responses like Everyone knew this was going to happen (no one told me, and I run the AUBGTalks website), The President approved this (not that I am aware of), When will the AUBGTalks website work again? -Maybe next week. The main website is not working so this is not a priority now, But we are publishing videos, we NEED the website! -Sorry, this is how it is, you should have known, you have to wait. Forget the fact that today a Harvard professor messaged me saying how good our videos are, and that he will share them at Harvard. Forget about all that. It. Just. Doesnt. Work. 3.
