Reposting the trailer for our new feature documentary Recover, this time including the write-up that my co-director and co-producer Dorian Arwyn Beach posted when she shared it on her page ... she sure outdid my post when I just said heres the trailer! Hahahaha. Have I mentioned I proud I am to be working with her on this film? Heres what she said: I am so proud and humbled by this moment...this is the first trailer for our film, RECOVER. This is the beginning of a movement for change...changing Perception, changing and Industry, and ultimately changing lives. RECOVER is the first film produced and released by a company I was inspired to create when my son, Ty was a baby...sleeping in the other room. I was sitting on the living room floor so awe-inspired by the gift and responsibility that comes with being a parent. It was not about me...it was about this precious little being and the world that he would be grow into. My company, CRE8 was started as a vehicle to give voice to the issues challenging the human condition. Film, TV, the Internet, and Music reach people around the world...touching the heart and inspiring action. The epidemic of addiction is growing and tens of thousands of people are dying every day because they and those that love them do not have access to the education, treatment, and care that is so desperately needed. EVERY single one of us...EVERY SINGLE ONE, knows a loved one, a friend, the child of a neighbor, the star football player, the lonely, misunderstood girl in the back of the classroom who succumbs to this deadly disease. There is No Profit in a Cure. There IS profit in keeping us sick. I was misdiagnosed on purpose, put into Detox on an addictive medication when I was not detoxing off of anything, I was ordered to take Prescription Pills for mood disorders in treatment centers or I would not continue to receive treatment...because the insurance companies would not pay. When my insurance company started to investigate the treatment center I was asked to leave with 30 minutes notice and not given a place to go or the medications that I had been forced to take. I almost died. This is my own personal story...it is one of hundreds of stories of abuse, corruption, and horrifying consequence of a system that is so broken, beautiful human beings are falling through the cracks. There is Hope...there is always Hope. And RECOVER is the beginning of bringing a beacon to those who are drowning in the darkness of addiction, trauma, and dual diagnoses. BE THE BEACON...SPREAD THE MESSAGE. BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD. Dorian Beach
