Reposting this due to the recent nastiness in Paris. This Fahad - TopicsExpress

Reposting this due to the recent nastiness in Paris. This Fahad Qureshi fellow serves up what strikes me as one of the most stunningly warped bits of logic Ive ever encountered. I think it demonstrates just how badly religion warps your thought processes, as you use more and more dubious arguments to back up a position that simply cant be backed up. Full disclosure: I think that killing someone for disagreeing with you is WRONG, and radically so. Thats my definition of radical. It has nothing to do with what you believe, and everything to do with how you are willing to act in support of that belief. What Qureshi shows here is that the vast majority of Muslims (at least those attending this conference) agree that the death penalty for blasphemy is perfectly OK, because the Quran says its OK. So how does he interpret that fact? Well, turning logic on its head, HIS definition of radical is that it cant be something that the majority support. So killing someone (the death penalty) for disagreeing with you (blasphemy) is OK, so long as the majority agree that thats what the Quran says is moral. #Religionofpeacemyass
