Reposting with pictures and video West Georgia (Buchanan) Comet is an approximately 8 year old, grade, unbroke, welsh type, project gelding. He stands around 12.2. Asking 500 Firm. Comet needs an experienced owner/trainer to continue his development. He has gorgeous gaits and would be an excellent english, dressage, sport pony with the right person. I have has him for about a year. I got him from a lady who rescued him from a less than ideal situation. He had spent 2 years in a pasture, untouched and chased by rock throwing children. Initially you could not touch him and he has come a long way since then. He is intelligent and curious - he wants to trust you and has made strides in that department but every now ad then he gets a little scared. He is not broke to ride to my knowledge, someone threw a western saddle on him and he was not happy about it however I have sacked him out with a saddle pad and he was fine. He picks up his feet, lets you groom him - even pick out mats from his mane. He is suspicious of fly spray but tolerates it. Both times I have seen him trailer, he has stepped on like a champ. His teeth were floated about 2 months ago, coggins is current until october and had eee, wee, vee, west nile, flu, rhino and tetanus in April. He has also been recently dewormed with ivermectin. He was fine for the vaccines and deworming. He is terrified of the hose. He will occasionally sit back when tied but stops when he realizes he isnt going anywhere. At times he does not feel like being caught in the pasture but most of the time now he will either come up to you or let you walk up to him. Otherwise, he follows the herd in to the barn and in to his stall readily. I adore this guy and would love to be part of his development - I feel he has tremendous potential with the right person, unfortunately my boarding situation has changed and I need to find him an appropriate home ASAP. That being said, he is not a childs pony at the moment - though could be one day. The right situation is important. I understand that his next owner may be a trainer then sold again - that is fine - but I do not want him bounced from place to place only to end up back in a pasture on his own or worse. Feel free to pm me with any other questions.
