Representation to CJI for suo-motu cognizance of Judges - TopicsExpress

Representation to CJI for suo-motu cognizance of Judges allegations in Tara case Today we have sent a representation to Chief Justice of India praying him to take suo-motu cognizance of the extremely serious charges being leveled on members of judiciary in the Tara Sahdeo episode. We said in their representation that while so far it has been politico-administrative nexus in such allegations, for the first time such grave allegations are being made against judicial officers. We said that not only Tara but the accused Rakibul alias Ranjit Kohli is also said to be stating his close proximity with judicial officers and conducting improiper judicial works through these contacts, a fact stated to them by Tara in Ranchi as well. The present Chief Justice R M Lodha had stated in his order dated 08 August 2012 in R.C. Chandel vs High Court Of M.P. & Anr Civil Appeal No. 5790 of 2012 (Arising out of SLP(C) No. 1884 of 2007) that judicial service is not an ordinary government service and a Judge must be a person of impeccable integrity and unimpeachable independence who must be honest to the core with high moral values. Hence we have requested the CJI to take suo-motu cognizance on this case and get an extremely detailed and impartial enquiry conducted and all the guilty punished, for the honour and dignity of judiciary.
