Representative Slaughter requested amendments to this lawsuit. She requested that an amendment that would prohibit the hiring of a lawfirm/consultants who lobby Congress, because if they work for Congress, then Congress should not be paying them (this was voted down by the House Rules Committee 7 to 4 (7 Republicans vs. 7 Democrats)), she requested that the House disclose how much tax payer money is being spent on this lawsuit against the President (this was voted down 7 to 4) and then she stated that We cannot hire a law firm that has a financial stake in the implementation of the ACA. Surely, an amendment like this will go through here like a hot knife through butter. Nope. Sorry. Again, House Republicans shot this down 7 to 4. This is becoming a big joke. You say you want to Fix America but you set up NO oversight to ensure that the tax payers money is being spent efficently and you ensure that those who will make money off this lawsuit are present at the discussion table.
