Representative democracy is a variety of democracy founded on the principle of elected officials representing a group of people, as opposed to direct democracy. The power of representatives is usually curtailed by a constitution. Well that says it all !!! , This Government of ours has driven a horse and cart through our constitution; they care no more for the constitution than they do for the people of Ireland. In my opinion Representative Democracy is a ploy to keep the so called ruling classes in power and on the gravy train.
