Representatives and leaders of some Christian Council of Nigeria affiliated theological colleges, church leaders, government officials and some non-governmental organisations at the end of the Theology and Disability Consultation in Nigeria resolved and committed themselves to carry out regular awareness trainings with church leaders on disability issues; appoint and involve more persons with disabilities at the leadership level in churches and theological institutions; Urged theologians and theological institutions to engage in more research to broaden the understanding of disability issues and produce materials to broaden this understanding; The theological institutions will review the adopted curriculum to accommodate courses and subjects on disability and ministering to persons with disabilities. Disability doesnt only affect persons with disabilities and their family but the entire church and should therefore urgently respond to these needs and churches should be at the fore-front of the advocacy for the re-structuring of public buildings and facilities to conform to the needs of persons with disabilities.
