Republicans tout 2011s Act 10 (the legislation that brought so many people out into the streets to protest) as having brought about nothing but good. This womans story isnt unusual. Many public workers were barely getting by before Act 10, and having faced pay cuts to their already modest wages, they have to turn to public assistance (for which theyre demonized further). When a large segment of the population loses a big chunk of their income, no wonder Wisconsins economy is in the crapper: Before Act 10, we were living check to check. Now, were living check to nothing for a week to check.
