Requesting volunteers from across the country (currently focussing India but friends across the globe may also follow) to start spreading out to nearest Gram Panchayats/equivalents (the Rural Local Governments) and show how their place looks on a satellite image and map. Baby steps need to be taken .....NOW.. Because change is on the horizon...... Let us come together..... all NGOs.... citizen, Pvt entrepreneurs- I call upon you to focus incorporation of GIS technology in the smallest manner in whatever work you do. This change will help you (if you had not adopted it yet) multifold in addressing the target audience and solving the root cause. Let us take the first step together..... PLEASE pass on the message- GIS and maps need to be introduced in the most backward rural areas with immediate effect..... Illiterates are not our concern..... because map can speak on its own...... Pictures and visuals speak stronger than words..... Let us walk together because time for a sprint is on the horizon.....
