Required Senior Software Test Engineer 1 As part of the Company Globalization team, the candidate will be responsible for testing Company products and administrating the state of the art test lab infrastructure that are used to test and optimize complex software applications and for resolving issues in innovative and practical ways. The individual needs to be self-motivated, creative and proactive, to work successfully in a fast-paced environment including multiple platforms and architectures, diverse technologies and lab environments. The individual will work closely with developers, managers, network engineers and other stakeholders throughout the SDLC, executing test iterations, tracking / reporting results, troubleshooting and coordinating defect resolution. The individual should have a strong understanding of SDLC processes, Networking, System administration, Globalization (Localization or Internationalization) concepts and the QA lifecycle and methodology. Principal Responsibilities • Applies expertise related to estimating, designing, developing and executing test procedures and cases based on requirements for product and system testing; depending on specific requirements, writes effective test cases ; performs software defect tracking and regression for identified project releases. • Participates in testing activities across the sub‐disciplines of software and systems engineering, including: requirement development, product design, software estimation, software design, software construction (coding), software test, software performance measurement, software product information creation and performing software maintenance • Analyzes and understands each projects environment, architecture, and interdependencies to determine and apply appropriate test methodologies and cases relative to applications being tested • Sets up test environments and builds out interdependent test beds and administer and maintain the Globalization test lab infrastructure for the entire globalization team. • Writes effective plans and test cases based on functional, design and requirements specification for one or more medium to large functional areas • Uses appropriate quality control tools to uncover defects and discover the state of the code; analyzes and records testing results and defects • Assists developers in reproducing problems and getting them resolved; participates in design activity with other programmers on technical aspects relating to testing, including functional specifications, design parameters, feature enhancements, and alternative solutions • Contributes to the creation of status, technical, and management reports as required • Assists in planning, analyzing, designing, developing, and executing training relative to automation tools and methodologies • Actively supports and provides guidance on the companys software engineering and test processes, procedures, standards and customer use cases • Establishes and maintains thorough and accurate documentation of all work including status updates to summarize project highlights • Works closely with other engineering team members and departments (Products, Research, Ops, Customer Care) on technical matters. • Keeps technically abreast of trends and advancements within area of specialization, incorporating these improvements where applicable; attends technical conferences as appropriate. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science or related field is preferred, with a minimum of 5 years of directly related work experience. • Experience in Design and implementation of network architecture & equipment’s (Routers, Switches, Firewalls) • Hands on experience in configuration, installation and maintenance of Servers (Database, AD, Web server) • Experience in maintaining any Virtualized lab environment for QA team. • Experience working with release procedures, test methodologies, QA process and software defect tracking; demonstrated ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases, Automated Test tools and frameworks • Experience as a contributor to moderately complex projects, implementing design and development approach, unit testing, debugging and integrating code; demonstrated ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Unix shell, PERL, Java script, Python, PowerShell); • Good understanding of web based software/protocols and database concepts • Basic understanding of Project Management methodologies; knowledge of software development project estimation/agreed tolerances, engineering tools, and concepts • Good Knowledge on Virtualization & cloud computing concepts • Knowledge on Globalization (Internationalization , Localization) testing concepts is a plus Interested candidates can forward profiles to hr.svdconservices@gmail with subject line (Req no: 22775)
