Rescue Me Tampa - Shelter Dogs 6-24-13 No change, still in need, only has until Wed night at the latest. This is Milly. She is a sweet, dear chow but I must warn you, she is heart breaking. She appears to have limited mobility, sight and maybe hearing. One of her eyes is shut. While she was able to get up when I saw her (it was very difficult for her), she may not be able to get up now. When I first saw Milly, despite that she appears to have sight issues she knew I was there. And while it was a struggle for her, she managed to get up, and come to the front of the kennel to say hi. Tears were gathering in my eyes as I watched her manage to make it over to me. After she came and got treats from me, she went over to eat some food. It was hard for her to continue standing as her right rear leg kept sliding out on her. She didn’t seem to be able to bend it well. I went in her kennel with her and reached out with some treats for her and she came over to me and enjoyed the treats. She is emaciated. She could no longer stand and her rear legs slid out on her. She appears to have no lower middle teeth.She enjoyed some head scritches as I told her I loved her. She is so sweet, by this time I had tears, she deserved so much better. She has been seen by the shelter vets as recently as this morning and is receiving medication for pain. I am not sure if it would be best to let her go peacefully, or with the proper care, she can have quality of life again. I know if she has been determined to be suffering, she would have been let go. All I do know, is time is of the essence and she needs to be evaluated by a vet to determine what can be done for her once she is out of the shelter. If she gets out. And I need to ask you, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE SHELTER ABOUT HER, UNLESS YOU CAN HELP HER! They are overloaded, and dozens of calls just to inquire about her DO NOT HELP! That is why we are posting her here, we will keep the latest updates here. And I need to ask. NO DRAMA PLEASE! Yes, she is in terrible shape and it is extremely upsetting. I saw her, it is upsetting to those of us who saw her more than anyone. But drama does not help, so please this effort is to help her. Stray Weight Estimate: approx. 35-40 lbs Due Out: 6/27 A1548489
