Rescue Squad to Brunswick for a HAZMAT - Rescue Squad 20 was alerted to assist Brunswick units with unknown substance in a creek on Canal Road near the water treatment plant. Rescue Engine 52 was on scene with Command confirming unknown substance in the creek. Crews began building a dam to isolate the substance. Rescue Squad 20 and the Chief arrived on scene assisted with checking manholes in the area to try and locate the source. Chief 20 assumed Command and crews awaited the HAZMAT team from Station 33 and 50. HIRT 33 crews arrived and began to test the substance in the water while Special Ops 50 checked the creek behind The American Legion. After all test were ran it was found the substance was non hazardous and scene was turned over to DNR. Units return to service. ift.tt/1z9hfTU (posted by Jefferson Fire & Rescue Company 20)
