Rescue friends and animal lovers, I ask for your advice. KodaBear, my three year old miracle cat whom I have had since she was 3 weeks old had started peeing outside of the litterbox out of the blue. She has always been special but we never new just how special until recently when her eating habits changed and we took her to the vet. It was discovered that she was born with a birth defect and doesnt have and diaphragm, meaning all of her organs are in her chest cavity pushing on her heart and lungs making it difficult for her to breath. She is now over 3 years old. The vets cant believe she is alive at all since most cats born this way are born dead or die shorty after birth. KodaBear is my best friend, but she cannot keep peeing outside of the box. The litter hasnt changed and she is acting way better now that we know what is wrong with her and have accommodated her needs. She has changed food, mostly wet since its way easier for her to digest. She wont eat anything other than 9 lives, wet or dry. She was on taste of the wild, and it gave her bad diarrhea but we never knew why she had this issue until we knew she has a hard time digesting. But it wasnt until 3 days after she was diagnosed with this birth defect that she began to pee on my bed, daily. Even while I was in it. Now we have moved into a new home and she has chosen a spot next to the computer table and I dont know why. She was on antibiotics as a precaution since uri was going from cat to cat and vet said if she had a uti the antibiotics would take care of both. I have cleaned area daily with vinegar... but need any and all ideas, advice, suggestions please! Tag whom you please as well 😊
