Rescue work is hard and you never know what you will be approached - TopicsExpress

Rescue work is hard and you never know what you will be approached with from one day to the next. We receive so many calls of help and we generally can only do so much. But, one phone call lead us to make a difference and help two families. We received a call from a lady that needed help with her older Arabian mare. Her husband had been diagnosed with Alzheimers and she was struggling to provide the proper care she felt her Arabian needed. Her horse was special to her and she wanted the best for her, specially since she has been with her since she was so young. So, she asked for our help and we agreed. At the same time, we heard of a family that was hurting. I am sure many of you saw on the news about the family who had their horses stolen from Lincoln County. Sadly, they havent recovered any of their horses, however, the individuals responsible for the theft have been caught, but they arent releasing information as to where the horses are. As if loosing your horses isnt enough, the mother Cindy, is battling terminal cancer and everyday it hurts her heart even more to see her daughter struggle with the loss of her horse. Cindys one wish was to either bring her daughter Shyans horse home or for them to receive a new horse for Shyan. This family struggles to cover the expenses from Chemo and treatment, so actually being able to put forth the extra money to purchase a horse was difficult at best. But, they had the resources, the time and the love to give to a horse. Everything seemed to fit on our end and we knew that this beautiful Arabian Mare had another journey in her life. She was meant to fill the void of a broken heart. Bring peace to a family that griefs the loss of their horses and hopefully, provide them a little comfort. Meet Shalaco and Shyan! We want to give a huge thank you to Shannon Elias for taking time and picking up this beautiful girl from her former family and seeing Shalaco on to meet her new family. I know Shalaco cant replace Carmel that you miss so dearly, but I hope she can fill that void in your heart and will provide you some comfort and peace that you desperately deserve. Cindy, we lift you up in prayer and pray that you have continued strength to fight this battle. If anyone has any information regarding Cindy & Shyans horses, please contact authorities and help get these horses home. In the meantime, please continue to pray for this family.
