Research Professor in Plant or Ecosystem Ecology This tenure-track position is open at CICESE, a research and graduate teaching institute of the Mexican science agency CONACyT, in Ensenada, Baja California, through the Department of Conservation Biology in the Division of Experimental and Applied Biology. Candidates are sought with experience in any of the following areas: ecosystem services (e.g. C and water fluxes), functioning of soil microbial communities, or effects of biodiversity on ecosystem and biogeochemical processes, particularly in the contexts of changing climate and land use. Experience in working at several scales and with several methods is preferred. Applicants must have postdoctoral experience and proven capacity to publish in prestigious journals. Experience in interdisciplinary projects and in projects linked to non-academic organizations would be favorable. The position requires development of an externally-funded research program, teaching of graduate courses and directing master ́s and doctoral thesis studies in the Life Science graduate program (in Spanish, at least within a short period). The rank of the position depends on qualifications, as defined in institutional statutes. The application must include a medium-term research proposal linked to arid and semi-arid ecosystems, a description of professional experience and expected contributions in teaching and to non-academic sectors, as well as the curriculum vitae, copies of three publications, and three letters of reference.
