Research suggests that adequate intake of vitamin E during the early stages of pregnancy is very important. For instance, LPI research in zebrafish supports the critical role of vitamin E during embryonic and fetal development to support rapid neural development. Now, a new study from Johns Hopkins extends this research in humans, showing that higher maternal vitamin E status during early pregnancy is extremely important for survival of the fetus.
