Researched this story a couple of days ago & it turns out he was a pet to a human as a pup & i think became to much to handle as evidenced by the video. He was surrendered to the sanctuary as he was too attached to human interaction & wouldnt survive in the wild. He used to have more freedom & got into the Lion enclosure where he was badly injured by said Lion. Nursed back to health a more suitable enclosure many times over was created & as you can see in the video he keeps escaping. He is not trying to get back into wild apparently but seeking out human interaction & enjoys having humans chase after him when he does escape. Sadly, humans make pets out of Wild Animals & this unfortunately is the outcome.
