Reservation for priest job ! Government of Karnataka Under the leadership of Siddaramaiah is proposing reservation for priest job in muzrai temple. Dalit brother’s are getting major opportunity to conduct priestly work in muzrai temple. Once upon a time dalit brothers were not permitted to enter the temple but now they have got opportunity to become priest in muzrai temple. I welcome this development with open mind. This is the glory of time as the saying goes “Kaalaaya Tasmai Namaha”. Women & widows were also not permitted to become priest in muzrai temple. I welcome this too with an open mind as the saying goes “Mathru Devo Bhava” and “Yathra Naaryastu Pujyante Ramante Tathra Devataaha”. For vacant priest post there will be filtration through back log. Government under the guidance of social welfare department will provide Sanskrit and Vedic training for the priestly work. From then onwards priestly class will not be Brahmins alone, all the other caste people will become priest by this yojana. In fact Brahmins will become minority priests in future if this yojana is implemented. But the bitter truth is that by the system of Indian reservation poor Brahmins are not getting admission in various colleges & universities. Majority people in Brahmins are poor as a result they will not invest in thousands / lakhs to get admission through donation or management qota. On the other side Poor Brahmins are not getting government jobs as per their category (G.M) because of Indian reservation system. Therefore poor Brahmins are following their ancestral job of performing priestly work in temple & leading poor standard of life. If this Yojana of “reservation for the job of priest in muzrai temple” is brought in to action then what will be the fate of poor Brahmins ?
