Reservation limit should be raised to 100%. Why leave the 20% - TopicsExpress

Reservation limit should be raised to 100%. Why leave the 20% behind? The Bihar Chief minister, Jitan Ram Manjhi recently called for a raise in reservation limit from 49.5% to 80%. He also said that he would discuss this matter with the ‘like’ minded parties, and would probably start an agitation to stress this issue. I would like to ask him, why just 80% sir? I don’t think that will quench the thrist. In my opinion the limit should be raised to 100%. Why leave the 20% behind? He said the limit should be raised to 80% in educational institutions and Government jobs. Why only government jobs sir? I think it should be enforced in every stream! It should be brought in sports/athletics field. He/she needn’t ace any sport, if he/she knows the basics, that would be sufficient, the ‘only’ criteria is his/her’s ‘caste’ certificate . Secondly, it should be implemented in the private sector, for getting jobs and promotion. Civil Engineers benefited from this system should construct the houses of our dear politicians as a token of gratitude. Doctors gained from this system should treat the politicians, and perform surgeries. I hope this is a fantastic idea, ain’t it? This will serve in the interest of our nation. If India plans to do a mars orbiter mission or any similar project, it would be better to give preference to the reserved category people. No, skills don’t matter at all, except for the certificate with the caste name on it, that’s more than sufficient. After sports and private sector, it should also extend to the basic requirements of human beings like food, shelter, water and lastly air. Why leave all these behind, right? * It’s not the first time Jitan Ram Manjhi has stirred a controversy, he had made a previous statement calling all upper castes ‘foreigners’. Sigh! How pathetic! Even though the Aryan-Dravidian concept which was propagated to keep the divide among our own people, has been quashed with scientific evidence, self centered politicians have kept the theory alive to benefit themselves. It’s saddening to note that our policy makers are completely mum over this issue. No one dares to speak against this injustice openly, as it might cut their vote bank. Yes, welfare policies like quota system is nothing but a part of vote bank politics. It hurts, when you come to know that you were denied a course of your choice, just because you didn’t have a caste certificate to show. It hurts, when merit and skill fails over a piece of caste certificate! Equality cannot be achieved by uplifting one section of the society at the cost of another. Even though the reservation system was enforced to bring about equality in the society, the unprivileged section is still in the same condition, with no improvement. So, has this system benefited anyone? Moreover education shouldn’t be used as a tool by politicians to satisfy their political agenda. Policies which does not deprive the rights of talented students should replace this rotten system. --Deepika
