Residents of Syracuse, we will be having an Annual Clean Up Day, sponsored by the Syracuse Area Economic Development Corporation, on Saturday, April 12th. It will be at the City of Syracuse Utility Center at the south end of town on HWY 50. Hours are from 8am-2pm. The following will be available for you to get rid of unwanted things: US Cellular will recycle cell phones, batteries and chargers; NebWorks will take all electronics, computers, monitors, printers, ink cartridges, TV’s and more; Paper Tiger (sponsored in part by FirstBank of Nebraska) will shred your documents; Allied Refuse will have large containers for your larger items to dispose of and Haag recycling will be there to recycle appliances, bicycles, aluminum, etc. Items not accepted will be paint, chemicals, oil, asbestos, pesticides, construction debris, household cleaners, other hazardous waste. Tires may be dropped off for a fee. Yard waste may be taken to the City drop-off site. This is not for your weekly garbage pickup. This is for Syracuse residents ONLY. Larger items that you cannot take to the Center may be picked up by volunteers. Speaking of volunteers, we need help. You may call 402-269-7411 or 402-525-5131 if you can help.
