Resistors are tiny, but nevertheless very important electronic - TopicsExpress

Resistors are tiny, but nevertheless very important electronic parts. They may not look like much but are in fact super useful. You could see them as guardians of the LEDs. Let’s say you have 2 LEDs, but dont want to burn them down in a circuit with a 9V battery you can just use a resistor to get rid of the annoying 3V that you dont need. Unlike LEDs, resistors can eat different amounts of voltage. This is described by their amount of Ohm (like in “Ohmnomnomom!“). With the law of Ohm (the letter for Ohm is R like resistor) and a little bit of math its even pretty easy not only to give your LED the exact amount of voltage it needs, but also to dim your lights by absorbing any unwanted energy. Thats still one of the more serious parts in my upcoming LED book. I strongly have the feeling my physics teacher would get nightmares after reading the final result! But almost done, almost! Benni is already working on the proof reading and Im writing down the last few topics! And you see, Im not dead. Just not in the mood right now to post that much. But I have a ton of new stuff for you, Im back with all that in 2015! :)
