Resource Curse: Counter—example: Poland before the Great Depression benefitted from the foreign investement; however, after 1934, Poland did modernized very quickly through centralized means after asking the foreign investors to leave. They left because Poland had only coal just enough for herself and just enoug oil for 20% of her own needs. Poland was not cursed with (strategic) resources; therefore, the investors from major powers found it easy not to go to war over the Polish resources. Kolakowski Elizabeth,NJ,USA
