The creation of ward development fund of 10Milion by Busia County Government is the right way forward. All eyes are awaiting these disbursement to hit the ward coffers, with an assumption that it’s the end of it all. May it be known by this presents that these monies would be enough and calls for us to supplement it with creative ideas to increase the same allocation by at least threefolds. The notion of ever spending should be detested and room should be afforded for Research and Development to facilitate wealth creation. Development works does not necessarily spell spending on capital acquisition but similarly important investing in creativity for wealth creation. We wouldn’t get real progress if we eternally adopt the spending culture at the expense of investment. These will along way instill the culture of business and/ or social enterprise ventures for our youths for improved incomes, dignified livity and for all round socio-economic development. This will make our youths get actively involved in creative thinking in setting up projects with capacities to turnaround and paint good the ugly face of poverty. In this regard therefore, I am pleading with Hon. Members of County Assembly and solemnly proposal all to make an allocation of at-least 5% of these funds to fund creative ventures with a High Rate of Return On Investment be employed for creativity and innovation. We have youths with many idea which we need to tap in and wherever its found wanting lets put in place tailor-made solution provision business ideas for take-up and or partnerships with the youths for their real engagement business enterprise wise.
