Response of my Baited Butt: Sorry for the delay...None of the other comments really expressed my voice on the religious issue, so just giving a thumbs up seemed inadequate. It saddens me, as Reed points out, that so many people have never read The Book. I think Ill need to coin a new term to describe my emotional experience when I encounter someone who most vehemently proclaims to be a “practicing” whatever (insert doctrine), yet are unwilling to invest themselves in gaining knowledge and understanding of what they think and say they believe; Indignation is close. Although I have invested myself in absorbing the Scriptures as presented in the King James and New King James versions of the Holy Bible for many years, I cannot claim an understanding of the Bible in its entirety. In fact, I would confess to understanding only a small fraction of it, as it has been revealed to me and applies to my ability, which makes my understanding comparatively pretty little. It astounds me to think a child has read the Bible from cover to cover. I was close to forty years old before I made it all the way through the reading of the book of The Revelation because it scared the crap out of me even then, and I still don’t understand it. Nonetheless, I understand enough to know…I believe God, as revealed to me. It is my repeated, direct experience that the Holy Bible is a living word and God a living being, as is my awareness; They change as I change. As my knowledge, experience, and understanding of myself, my God and the religious text I believe continues to grow, I think it’s safe to say: youtube/watch?v=O8vcyOKYH9g Thanks for including me. C
