HOWEVER, Im not sure that Mohammed himself would recognise your version of Islam. You are highly selective in your quotations. What about the slaughter of every Jew? The trees crying out on the last day, O Muslim, there is a Jew hiding behind me. Come and kill him? What about the prophets own blood-soaked history? The duty of every Muslim to reclaim land once under Sharia law but subsequently lost? (Since I live in Spain this issue is a very real threat). Its all too easy to present your sanitised version to a gullible West, which is largely ignorant of history, but surely you cannot expect all of us to be that ignorant??? In reality, it is YOU who is not the authentic Muslim. The ones you call idiots are the ones truly following in the footsteps of your prophet. But I must say that I wish more people in your religion were like you. Then the world would be a far safer place and as a Christian minister I would not be facing the threat of being decapitated in the name of a religion of Peace. May many more follow your example and adopt your hybrid version. And please keep speaking out, for voices like yours are what is needed. I pray that you will not receive a fatwa, as did Mr. Rushdie.
