Responsible Conduct of Research - July 15-19, 2013 Event Details Event Date: Jul 15, 2013 Event Time: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Location: Bioinformatics Building Auditorium 1131 Contact: Carly Lamb [email protected] The NC TraCS Institute is sponsoring a one-week course in the Responsible Conduct of Research organized and run by David Weber, MD, MPH, Director of the NC TraCS Institute Regulatory Core. July 15-19, 2013 The course will be held from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM each day. Bioinformatics Building Room 1131 The course covers all the NIH-required topics for the first phase of responsible conduct of research training: · Policies regarding human subjects research · Principles for the ethical use of animals in research · Safe laboratory practices · Conflict of interest · Mentor/mentee relationships · Peer review · Authorship and publication · Data acquisition, management, sharing, ownership · Research misconduct · Collaborative research · Contemporary issues biomedical research · Discussion sessions on the above topics using case studies NOTE: This year the sessions have been organized so that the first 2 days will cover topics specific to human subjects research (Monday and Tuesday) with the rest of the week addressing the other topics considered part of Responsible Conduct of Research training (mentoring, authorship, etc.) In order to receive credit for course completion participants must attend: Human subjects training: Attendance at both Monday and Tuesday Responsible Conduct of Research: Attendance at all five sessions
