Responsible for the direction and development of Plasmology4s (Plaz4) intellectual property (IP) portfolio on a worldwide basis, including development and implementation of patent portfolio strategies across Plaz4. Establish company-wide best practices and procedures for IP. Supervising and managing outside legal council worldwide to develop broad, meaningful patent protection designed to generate value for Plaz4 and its shareholders. Efficiently educate the appropriate patent authorities in the field of art concerning the intricacies and nuance of our products in order to successfully obtain the broadest coverage and protection throughout the patent prosecution phase in the most cost-effective manner possible. Managing intellectual property disputes on a worldwide basis in a variety of jurisdictions and drive them to a successful resolution. Overseeing and negotiating transactional IP matters, such as patent and trademark licenses, settlement agreements and any other agreements having IP provisions. Administering a complex IP program within budget and accurately projecting costs on a worldwide basis. Globally coordinating, maintaining, and standardizing Plaz4’s non-disclosure agreements and related duties. Conduct and manage product clearance searches (freedom-to-operate / freedom-to-practice) to stay apprised of the latest developments and entries into the relevant patent landscape. Draft preliminary figures and carefully tailored, broad claim sets for Plaz4’s intellectual property in disclosures designed to support the claim scope and validity. Acquire patent and trademark rights. Protect Plaz4 from allegations of infringement, and enforce Plaz4’s patent and trademark rights. Deny use of Plaz4’s IP by other parties. Direct legal opinions and analysis of patent and trademark infringement matters. Negotiate, draft, and evaluate patent trademark licenses, settlement agreements, nondisclosure agreements, other IP agreements, and any commercial agreements having IP provisions. Manage IP dispute/litigation matters on a worldwide basis in a variety of jurisdictions. Oversee IP due diligence and resolve issues relating to M&A activities. Closing of commercial transactions with the appropriate IP rights. Select, supervise, and ensure quality control of outside IP counsel. Assign and manage the work product of outside counsel while adhering to the overall IP budget. Evangelize IP issues across Plaz4. Establish training sessions and provide guidance on IP issues.
