We just have to find kindness in each others homes and hearts and wish for a better world for people like your son, who if anyone knows a way to contact him, Id love to send some words and a little consolation. We werent the closest friends but you were a fellow bouncer, bearded ruffian, and burlesque dancer. A damn fine face to see on those weird Lake Worth nights where you just need someone to talk with who seems incapable of judgement or cruelty. I actually found some words in a recent novel Im reading which I highlighted for the sake of it and now seem rather appropriate: Maybe, he thought, there arent any such things as good friends or bad friends-maybe there are just friends, people who stand by you when youre hurt and who help you feel not so lonely. Maybe theyre always worth being scared for, and hoping for, and living for. Maybe worth dying for, too, if thats whats has to be. No good friends. No bad friends. Only people you want, need to be with; people who build their houses in your heart. I love you people reading this, truly I do... And if you are battling your own darkness please, please dont think you cant reach out to others... I promise you my own hands and heart in your defense.
