Rest for the Weary2 Morning Family ~ Webster also defines rest - TopicsExpress

Rest for the Weary2 Morning Family ~ Webster also defines rest as to be free from whatever worries or disturbs you. Some people cant rest mentally because theyre always bugged by everything. Every little thing just pounds away in their brain and they can never just rest because theyre always hassled by everything. I must admit that I am sometimes guilty of brain in overdrive, and just can’t seem to turn it off. To rest means to be free from whatever hassles you, from whatever disturbs you in your spirit or creates worries in your mind. It means, in this sense, to be quiet, to be still, to be peaceful, be free from guilt and the things which drive us to neurotic behaviors, psychosis, nervous breakdowns, split personalities.. etc. To avert all of the craziness, the easiest and trouble-free way to enter Gods rest is to simply be at peace with God. Rest in the dictionary is defined as to lie down, to be settled or to be fixed. No more flux, no more flow, no more shifting around. Gods rest is the kind of rest where we are positioned and established in Christ. Rest also means to remain confident, to put our trust in something, in other words, we rest in something in the sense of confidence. And to enter Gods rest logically means to enjoy security, no more fear; we have absolute trust and absolute confidence in Gods care and charge of our life. Lastly, rest means to lean on and to enter into Gods rest; that for the rest of our life and eternally we can count on God and can rely on Him and be sure that He is strong enough to handle us and our problems and will never topple over. So when it talks about rest in the Bible, its talking about a new relationship to God that is available to us whereby we can depend on God, can impose on God; totally believe on God for support, for health, for power, for everything we need. In this relationship we must be confident and secure; must be settled and fixed; stand on the Word; be free from that which disturbs us; sin is gone its been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, therefore guilt is gone, and we have no reason to worry; we have only a reason to be at peace with ourselves and with others since we are at peace with God. Rest provides the compass points that show us where to go. It gives us the physical and emotional endurance to make correct judgments. It is in the solitude that we can get wisdom; a necessary tool for finding Gods way. So on this “I will seek the God kind of rest” Thursday, let us take comfort in Him, rest and don’t worry about what lies ahead because He has already taken care of tomorrow. Blessings and PEACE to you all, Never lie, always be fair and never break a promise.
