Rest in Peace Mr. Keating!...... CARPE DIEM ! You might well pick Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting or The Birdcage, but DEAD POETS SOCIETY has and will always remain closer to my heart as the most cherished Robin Williams Flick. As an English proffessor, infusing life in his students with the poetries, he invokes them to seize the day and live life fully within the confines of a strict conservative elitist academy. It was an excellent role and it amazed me how he could play a kind, funny and tearjearking role after years in comedy. The film boasts of some impeccable dialogues, like We are not talking artists, we are talking freethinkers. We all cant be artists like Shakespeare. but we must be freethinkers. Especially the end of the movie is marvellous where Ethan Hawke stands up on the bench and says - Oh Captain ! My Captain! to his professor! And, like as Mr. Keating had said We dont read & write poetry because its cute. We read & write poetry because were human beings and were filled with passion!
