Restaurants are not merely a place to sit and eat a meal. They are where we go to experience something extraordinary. Fare that feeds the soul, encourages a little curiosity, opens up our palates to a cultural exploration that connects us with one another without boundary. Dining out will always be a privilege and a luxury. From the chefs to the patrons, we must never forget how much of an unforgettable experience it should be every time. Service, presentation, quality, ingredients, ambiance ... all of this is why any one of us leave the comforts of home. My motto and tried and true ideology is this: A restaurant staff should always remember that those dining may have saved up for months to taste even a fragment of what you create. In the same breath, patrons must always remember the time and effort (and often exhaustion) it takes for a chef to present to you their passion on a plate. In that same context, those in the service industry must love working with others. It is daunting, stressful, often times regrettably challenging but in the end, if you love it, it is the love to present something to an awaiting hunger that feeds the desire. As a lover of tasting the passion on the plate, I want to be wowed. I want my mouth to crave the next bite. I want my entire being to pause so that I may savor the ingredients patiently resting on the fork before me. Life is meant to be savored. No better way to do that then to savor every culmination of flavor that you are brave enough to invite in.
