Restoration Challenge Over the 2015 academic year the West Midlands Construction UTC we plan to involve students in the development of our permanent premises at The Springfield Brewery in Wolverhampton. This may take the form of our Restoration Challenge in the Build Pathway. The project involves working within a team to survey an existing structure to determine its integrity and potential. The student must assess the extent of repairs required for the restoration, then they will create a structural plan using CAD/CAM to demonstrate how the project superstructure will develop and support the intended use safely. They will need to include details of cost estimates based on the remediation, repair and restoration to create a specific vision. The final project involves giving a presentation on your plans to demonstrate your solutions and progression throughout for the project. This project will develop the student’s’ ability to work in a team and presentation skills. It will assess the students’ knowledge of budgeting and overall planning of a large scale project in the built environment.
