Restoring America’s soul begins by daily nourishing the soul of every American child. Unlike animals, human hearts and minds have a spirit that can perceive good from bad, right from wrong, kindness from cruelty and holiness from profane. Yet, young children need to be taught and trained to properly direct their hearts and minds in the right direction. This nourishment of the soul can only be provided by loving parents, in cooperation with like-minded teachers. Failing to provide children with a wholesome education leads to disaster. America’s runaway crime and corruption, which adversely impacts every American, is a direct result of our top-down educational system devoid of healthy food for the soul. Child neglect should arouse the compassion of every American, especially that of our political leaders. Yet, American children in government schools are deprived of food for their souls in harmony with that of the family. While the First Amendment prohibits the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion, it also prohibits impeding the free exercise of religion. Our nation was founded on liberty and equal justice for all, when parents did not have to compete with government schools, where anything goes except religious and moral values. Every patriot needs to help save our ship of state. We must restore to parents their traditional role in raising and directing the education of their children by instituting universal school choice.
