Restoring Egypt’s Revolution A Seven Point Roadmap to the Future 1. Chief Justice Adly Mansour, head of the Supreme Constitutional Court, was sworn in today, July 4th 2013, before the general assembly of the Court, as temporary President. He will be the head of state during the transitional period until a new president is elected via early presidential elections. During the transitional period, President Mansour will have the authority to issue constitutional declarations that regulate the democratic transition. 2. A new technocratic government will be formed, and invested with all the necessary authorities to run the transitional period. 3. The Supreme Court, which is currently reviewing the electoral law, was asked to expedite the approval of the draft electoral law of the House of Representatives, and start the preparatory procedures of the parliamentary elections. 4. An inclusive committee will be formed, with membership spanning the full political spectrum, to review and amend the controversial articles in the currently suspended constitution. 5. A Code of Ethics will be laid down to provide for the freedom and guarantee the professionalism of the media. 6. A High commission for national reconciliation will be formed from representatives from across the political spectrum. 7.
