Results are in from my first 5K, folks...I finished 123rd place overall (out of 1051 runners), 12th place in my division out of 40 runners (age 40-44), 2nd person aged 44 to cross the finish line. :) My stats: 5K in 28:53.3, pace 9:19/mile. Big big congrats to the winner of my division, Jim Ritter, also age 44, who finished in a very impressive 21:11.5, pace 6:50/mile! Wow....and to the killer overall 1st place winner of the 5K, Jose Vargas, who finished in an incredible 18:12.6, pace, 5:52/mile!!! Thats practically sprinting for 3 miles, folks. Wow. Hats off! Thanks to my work-mates Brennan Todd and Kasia Cisek for providing a competitive edge for me...they came in 106th and 109th place. And super big loving thanks to my sweetheart Lisa Meyerson who drove me there, and cheered me on and put cold water on me after the race, and then treated me to a beautiful amazing brunch at Peckish Pig! :) Ok, pictures to come, maybe tomorrow.
