Results are now up. I have to say Stones Corner, Im impressed, 134 runners across the line on what this article says is the coldest morning in 103 years, couriermail.au/news/queensland/brisbane-hits-coldest-temperature-in-103-years/story-fnihsrf2-1226986116278?nk=92afc1e1fbdca2ba2896c53fe6cb1ad3, Im not convinced thats right but either way it was freezing, the frost on the grass at the start line could attest to that. At around 6:45 I was sure it would be a small field, only about 20 people had arrived, however at about 6:50 everyone came flooding in, no doubt leaving it till the last minute to brave the cold. Well done to Dan SYMONDS on his first run at Stones Corner and a smashing time first across the line in 16:37. Our first female across the line was also a first timer to Stones Corner in another fast time of 19:40, well done Bec PHILIPP. It was a fast field up front this morning with the first 9 runners coming in under 20 minutes. There was some slight confusion around positions 121, 122 and 131, so if your time looks out around those positions please let me know and we can correct it. A massive thank you to Paul, Will and Ang from RIF REV, they looked particularly busy at the finish line, many of you seemed to be getting in there and getting some great advice from the team. Thanks too Ang for doing the warmup and cooldown, we certainly needed it this morning. Make sure you pop down and see Body Leadership Australia which is where RIF REV are based, they are local to Stones Corner so its great to know they are close by. Id also be interested to know if the prerun warmup is something youd all like to see more often, its been asked for a few times so Im curious to hear what the interest would be. Obviously wed time it a little better then this morning as we were running late. A big big thank you to all our volunteers this morning, another smooth morning and it was great to see a number of new volunteers, its a little intimidating at first but you all handled it like pros. Also good luck to our volunteer Connor next week on the Kokoda Challenge at the Gold Coast, at 48km its less than 10 parkruns, easy ;) Photos will be up later, have a great and hopefully warm weekend everyone.
