Results from the HIR today. The Asra girls of Erin, amelia, eilidh and cara finish an agonising 2nd place in wj4- in the closet finish of the day which required close analysis of the photo finish, less than a bowball separated our Scottish crew with the one from England who won. Our girls showed great spirit to take the race to them after larger losing margins all year. They combined in the eight and came a credible third place. Our boys meanwhile recorded a strong third place finish in the junior mens pair, good result considering they have two more years of eligibility at junior. Our senior boys four came third as well whilst the Scottish Junior eight finished in fourth position. Great results which saw the junior girls miss out on the overall match by a mere point. Meanwhile ex-Asra senior athletes recorded several wins, Jamie steel won the senior womens eight in commanding fashion whilst Gary Wilson racing in all three heavyweight sculling events recorded a strong 2nd in the 1x and terrific hard fought wins in the 2x and 4x. Scotland won both senior mens and womens matches and came close in the junior womens. All Asra coaches, athletes and fps are proud to be part of a successful Scottish team.
