Retired but Not Tired In Honor of DepEd Lanaos Retirees Hascon Court, Marawi - Beyond the law and benefits, how can Government not honor those retiring after decades of serving in one of Southeast Asias lowest education budgeted countries? Thus it was an honor to join Lanao del Sur 2 celebrate 34 of its retiring personnel including the dedicated utility man of decades MAXIMO SAMANTE who was the center of many selfie photographs . Each retiree was made to walk the red carpet with a fellow DepEd as accompaniment. Songs were rendered and testimonials shared. The tears were a bulk starting as early as the opening remarks by Division Training Coordinatpr Supervisor Isinobai Bantog. The host Waisa Arsad even printed out famous quotes to honor the retirees. Through thick and thin including rains and floods, Max as Superintendent Zenaida called him brought smile in an everyday hectic life when roses or flowers brighten up the desk of the highest official who served some 3000 women and men of DepEd. LS 2s Accountant Teresita Yap of Malabang never married and was able to live up to the auditing required of reports from the region, one which Zenaida said was even higher above her decision when it came to Yaps reproach. Another retiree Assistant Superintendent and facebooker Pendi Ibrahim challenged the retirees to join her in a crusade to continue to serve through organizing themselves as external stakeholders. Retired but not tired, we urged the retirees to help in the regional reform thrust. Each one is a facilitator, a mediator. The reform program we reminded has taught us the value of the rule of law, to line up the way everybody does, to put grievances in writing, and to file complaints and not force conflict into a rido. We also need to recognize where credit is due to the leadership - GSIS remittances being settled by the Regional Government .
